Water Damage Restoration in Los Angeles

Maingreen Remodel & Construction handles water damage restoration in Los Angeles homes after leaks and burst pipes: the leak is repaired, and the floors, walls and cabinets it damaged are repaired or rebuilt, by one licensed contractor (License #1093329).

LEAK REPAIR AND WATER DAMAGE REPAIR

  • The leak found and stopped
  • Damaged drywall, insulation and flooring replaced
  • A check for mold
  • Walls, floors and cabinets rebuilt

From the leak to the finished room

Water damage is two problems: the leak, and what the water leaves behind in floors, walls and cabinets. As a licensed general contractor that also does plumbing and roofing, we repair both.

What water damage restoration includes

One contractor for the repair, the drying and the rebuild

Restoration means the source is repaired and the damaged parts of the room are repaired or rebuilt.

Find and stop the source

A burst or leaking pipe, a water heater, a failed shower pan, an appliance hose or a roof leak is found and repaired first, by our plumbing or roofing work, so no more water comes in.

Damaged materials

Water-damaged drywall, insulation, flooring and cabinets are assessed, and what cannot be saved is replaced.

A mold check

The EPA advises drying water-damaged areas and items within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mold growth. If mold has already started, it is removed as mold remediation before anything is closed up.

Rebuild

New drywall, insulation, flooring, tile or cabinets go back in, finished to match the room. If you were already planning a bathroom or kitchen remodel, the rebuild can become that remodel.

What to do first

  • Electricity first

Ready.gov: do not touch electrical equipment if it is wet or if you are standing in water, and turn off the electricity to prevent electric shock if it is safe to do so.

  • Photos before cleanup

Ready.gov advises documenting all your damages: before you clean up, take photos and make a list.

  • Dry it fast

The EPA advises drying water-damaged areas and items within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mold growth.

Sewage or flood water

The EPA says that if the water damage was caused by sewage or other contaminated water, you should call in a professional who has experience cleaning and fixing buildings damaged by contaminated water.

A sewer line that backed up is also a sewer repair, so the cause is fixed along with the damage.

What sets the cost of water damage repair

  • How much got wet

One cabinet base is a different job from a whole floor of carpet, pad and drywall.

  • The type of water

Water from a supply line or a sewer backup; the EPA advises a professional experienced with contaminated water for sewage.

  • The repair behind it

From a new supply hose to a slab leak, a repipe or a roof repair: the repair behind the damage is part of the price.

  • The rebuild

What has to be replaced: drywall and paint, flooring, tile or cabinets.

Insurance coverage depends on your policy and on what caused the water; ask your insurer what it covers. The assessment is free.

Water damage questions

A pipe burst in my Los Angeles condo. Who should I hire?

A contractor who can repair the pipe and the damage it caused. As a licensed general contractor that also does plumbing, we handle both. In a building, also tell your HOA or property manager.

Will I get mold after water damage?

Mold can start when wet materials are not dried: the EPA advises drying water-damaged areas and items within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mold growth. If mold has already started, see our mold remediation page.

Can you fix the leak that caused it?

Yes. Leaks from pipes, water heaters and drains are plumbing repairs we do, and a leak from above is a roof repair, which we also do.

Which areas do you serve?

Los Angeles and nearby cities including Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Culver City, Inglewood, Torrance, Long Beach, Whittier, Santa Clarita, Palmdale and Lancaster.
